Giselle Smith, Editor
Giselle Smith has been an editor and writer in the Seattle market for almost 20 years. She started her magazine career with Alaska Airlines Magazine, and in 1991 joined Micromedia, Inc. to launch Seattle Magazine as a bimonthly. After seven and a half years as editor of Seattle, during which time the magazine was sold to Adams Publishing and grew to 12 times a year, Smith left to pursue online editing projects for a variety of software companies and clients.
In addition, Smith has edited guidebooks on Seattle, the Pacific Northwest and Alaska for companies such as Sasquatch Books and Insight Guides. She has taught nonfiction writing and editing through UW Extension, the University of Washington’s continuing education program, and has written for a variety of travel and home-related publications and websites.
Smith became editor of SH&L in December of 2005.

Angela Cabotaje, Assistant Editor
Angela Cabotaje has always loved reading and writing. She completed her first writing project at the age of 9, when she handed her mother a manuscript, scrawled in Crayon, to mail to Scholastic. Since then Cabotaje has written for Interiors, PC Magazine and American Way on diverse subjects such as home design, computer technology and novel-writing.
In her spare time, Cabotaje enjoys exploring Seattle, drinking milk tea and reading to her heart’s content. She holds a journalism degree from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, and now lives in Bellevue.
