2010 Bath of the Year Contest

Seattle Homes & Lifestyles 2010 Bath of the Year Entry Procedures

We invite homeowners, designers, builders and architects to submit their bathrooms for the Seattle Homes & Lifestyles Bath of the Year Award. Winners will be published in the August 2010 issue.

TO ENTER: 

1. In a cover letter, briefly describe the bathroom and the homeowners. Include the homeowners’ daytime phone number(s) and the names and phone numbers of all involved professionals—architect and interior designer, for example—as well as the home’s location, furnishings and finishes. Homeowners must live in Western Washington and be available for interviews, and the home must be available for a photo shoot, some time in March, April or May 2010. (Note: Homeowners’ names are required because Seattle Homes & Lifestyles needs their written permission to publish the home. While we prefer to name owners in our articles—after all, it is the people who make a house a home—we can list them as anonymous at the owners’ request.)

2. Send color photographs—JPEGs on a CD (preferred), color copies, 35mm slides, 2 1/4-inch transparencies or 4-by-5-inch transparencies—of the bathroom from several angles. If the project you are submitting is a remodel, also send “before” pictures if any are available. Please do not send the images in separate PDF files. NOTE: Quality of photographs can make a difference in the judges’ decision but professional photographs are not required. Professional photographs must include photo credits.

3. Entries may be submitted by homeowners, designers or contractors (with homeowners’ consent), but the home cannot have been published in any national or regional publication (including SH&L) or be promised for publication prior to August 2010. Homes must also not be for sale and owners must have no immediate plans to put their home on the market.

4. Include a $50 entry fee per entry. Checks should be made out to Seattle Homes & Lifestyles.

If you would like to have your pictures returned, include a self-addressed stamped envelope with adequate postage. (Materials will be handled with care; however, Seattle Homes & Lifestyles assumes no responsibility for lost or damaged materials. Please do not send originals.)
