Modern glamour
Modern design goes soft with shades of rich brown, cream and pale white—then gets a touch of sparkle with clear and reflective surfaces. Cold no more, the new modern glamour is warm and inviting

Old Hollywood—as personified by the glamorous likes of Greta Garbo and Jean Harlow—has resurfaced to direct the latest design trend: a modern take on the glitter that was popular in the 1920s and ’30s. The return of glamour means softer lines and a warmer, luxurious ambience.

The style is Old Hollywood glam meets modern design sensibility. It was prominent on the catwalk during New York’s Olympus Fashion Week this fall, in styles by notable designers such as Badgley Mischka and Zac Posen, and is quickly transitioning to the interior-décor realm, with irresistible jewelry tones (platinum, gold, diamonds and pearls), plush furnishings and luxurious faux fur rugs or throws.
