Winning Combinations
The 2007 Seattle Homes & Lifestyles Home of the Year contest can be counted as a success for both the magazine and the design community.

The 2007 Seattle Homes & Lifestyles Home of the Year contest can be counted as a success for both the magazine and the design community.

After receiving a record number of highly qualified entries, we called on the expertise of SH&L market adviser Linda Humphrey and architect Allan Farkas of Eggleston/Farkas Architects, winners of one of SH&L's 2006 Home of the Year awards, to help us select the winners. After much deliberation, we settled on three projects--featured in this issue--designed by Bohlin Cywinski Jackson, Chesmore/Buck Architecture and Allworth Nussbaum Landscape Architecture & Construction.

Also in this issue, a contemporary Kirkland home, designed by Coop 15 architect Jill Lewis, sleekly accommodates a family of four (plus one friendly dog). In our Style section, we've branched out to spotlight a trend that is showing up in everything from furniture to accessories to linens. And, because daylight-saving time occurs in November this year instead of October, we decided it was a good time to feature a few of our favorite clocks for "falling back" in style.
