ON A RECENT EXPEDITION, we made some new discoveries: artisan-made vessels that are as much about contemplating nature as they are containing it. Whether made from reclaimed wood or soda-fired ceramic, these forms celebrate elemental beauty to please the eye of any bloom-plucking beholder. We admired the texture of cracked earth, the asymmetrical shape of an ocean-dwelling mollusk and the curvy lines of bent bamboo. Even ice is nice when it’s rendered in crystal; here’s to a chunk of glacial splendor that won’t melt away. (Click the images to view the slideshow).
